Buried in Research

Just a few of the books I’ve recently checked out in order to make sure the interrogation in my latest WIP is accurate.

My blogs may have been few and far between, but I have not been slacking.

I’m currently spending nearly four hours per day editing and writing.  As I was attaching my last set of chapters for DomiNate, another chapter in the Unleashed!, series to my critique group, I realized the entire ending was missing!

We will not go into the weeping, wailing, or gnashing of teeth that ensued afterward.  Or how I stalked my young children for days, trying to figure out which one got onto my computer and messed with the pages.

Ultimately it doesn’t matter. And I should’ve had more than one copy of my story saved. Sigh.

Instead, I rolled up my shirt sleeves, grabbed a bottle of Dr. Pepper, and got back to work, making my NEW ending better than the last.

And, boy howdy, is it better.  I decided to include an interrogation scene that rocks Nathan’s (the main character) world!  Of course, that means I now have to go in and tweak a couple of other storylines in the other books from the Unleashed! series, but the time and the revisions are so worth it.  I think I amplified the tension three-fold by including this one new scene.

Now, I have to tie up some loose ends and I’m done! AGAIN.
